I have suggested that the children bring some kind of food mentioned in the story on Friday, December 19. They can bring enough for their group of five, and it can be as simple as apples, milk with dust sprinkles (crushed oreos?), apple pie etc. It certainly doesn't need to be elaborate! They all have plenty of ideas! :)

Advent Giving

Thank you once again, parents and students, for your generous donations to St. Anne's angel tree. Thanks to you, our angels, Charly, Frosty, Noelle and Serena will have some wonderful gifts to open on Christmas morning. The best gift of all was your caring spirit.

Once again, All Saints is participating in the“Angels” project for
Advent. Our class has 4 ‘Angels’ we will try to help this Advent season. Below
is the information for each child:
(On Monday, I will
divide the class into four groups. Each group will then name their
angel and will decide what they are able to donate.)
“Noelle” is a 16 year old girl who is in need of shirts (Extra large). She would also like eye shadow, lip gloss, lotions etc.
“Serena” is a 10 year old girl who is in need of boots (Women's size 7). She also likes dolls.
“Charly” is a 9 year old boy who is in need
of jeans (Size 10-12). He would also like a Skippo card game and spy items. :)
“Frosty” is a 12 year old boy who is in need
of jeans (size 10). He would also like a fishing pole.
We would like to have all gifts to school
by Dec. 12th. They are to be
sent (unwrapped) anytime starting Dec 1st.
If you are unable to shop and would like to make a donation for me to
shop for our “Angels”, that would be fine.
I will plan on shopping during the first weekend in December, so anyone
wanting to send up money can put it in an envelope addressed ‘Angels’ and I
will take it from there.
Thank you in
advance for helping this Christmas be special for our “Angels” and God Bless!
Thank You
Thank you for sharing your blessings. Our class sent over 40 T- shirts to Haiti, and we collected 44 cans for our Thanksgiving food drive. You are generous folks!

Thanksgiving
A Thanksgiving Reflection
Being a member of the All Saints community as a former
parent and now as a teacher, I paused to reflect this weekend on the blessings
this relationship has afforded me. I was
a member of the school board when the community determined the mission
statement of the school, and at the time, I’m not sure I realized how important
this deliberation was. The students
recite the statement each day: “All
Saints Catholic School provides students a total educational experience emphasizing
academic excellence and personal responsibility within a Catholic faith community.” The school has grown so much over the years
that the varied and diverse course offerings certainly do offer “a total
educational experience.” I love the fact
that teachers, parents and students alike strive for academic excellence, but
those two little words “personal responsibility” are so vitally important in
this endeavor. Thank you, parents, for
also appreciating this! Finally, I am so
thankful that I work in a school that fosters and promotes our faith so that
both children and adults pause in this hectic world to stop, pray, give thanks,
and worship.
I am also very grateful to the school and our wonderful
P.T.O for your generosity and appreciation at the beginning of this Advent
season.
Blessings,

Homeroom Halloween Party
Kendall O and Maddie M enjoying plenty of treats!
Bobbing for apples - what a great idea!
Pumpkin Bowling.
Matthew - Try to grab the apple with your mouth.
No, you don't need to put your entire head under the water! Too late!
There you go!
Kendall has that mischievous grin.
Yep! Donuts on strings!
Thanks to Aidan R.'s mom for organizing. Thanks also to Paige's mom and Matthew M's mom for helping. A good time was had by all!

About Me
I am so happy to be a part of All Saints Catholic School again! I was born and raised in Surrey, England and started my teaching career there. Interestingly, my high school was called St. Anne's College! My husband and I emigrated in 1981 and became United States citizens in 1994. Our two daughters both attended All Saints and Bishop Kelley, and I was active in the All Saints P.T.O and served on the school board during that time. I taught English Language Arts, mainly at the pre-AP level, at Sequoyah and Childers middle schools from 2001-2014. My first love has always been literature, so I am delighted to be sharing that love with your children this year!
